Overview

You can control who can view the dashboards, either a broad audience like your organization, just you or public you cherry pick. In this article you’ll learn the access restrictions mechanism and public sharing of dashboards.

Access Restrictions

Dashboards has two access restrictions:

  • My organization. Any logged in user in roninpixels.atlassian.ent net can see the dashboard i.e., open dashboards

  • Private. Only the creator of the dashboard can see it i.e., private dashboards

This restriction can be set accessing the lock menu. It’s indicated with an unlock icon if “All users” is selected and with a lock icon if “Creator only” is selected.

Public Sharing

  • Access restrictions are independent from a shared dashboard. A dashboard can always be shared.

  • It’s intended to allow anonymous access, so anyone with the link can see the content of the dashboard

  • Share Board → Share Dashboard

  • Separate the Internal URL section and the Public URL section

  • Internal URL → Internal link

  • Explanatory text: If the access restriction is set to "All Users" then, any user who can log in can see the dashboard with this link

  • Separator line

  • Initially, the toggle is disabled (grey) and there's no link to be copied, it appears when the toggle is enabled (green).

  • The toggle has tooltips in both states, disabled and enabled:

    • Enable public link

    • Disable public link

  • Explanatory text: It’s intended to allow anonymous access, so anyone with this link can see the content of the dashboard, even external users.
