The main components of a dashboard are the gadgets (see What is a Gadget?), which are basically the elements that display the information you need, in the format you want. These gadgets have to be configured with a datasource (see Add and Configure a DatasourceManage Datasources and Learn about Datasources), which is the element that connects the tool you extract the information from (or where the data is).

Click on the ⚙ to open the configuration menu, or click on the Config button.
Name your gadget.
Select a datasource, default for the current instance, or any other (see Add and Configure a DatasourceManage Datasources).
Indicate if you want to use the current gadget configuration for compatible gadgets still without configuration.
Click Save.
